OPEN PLAY

What is Open Play? 

Open play is for individuals to come and play in a fun and friendly environment. Open Play is when players will rotate in and around the courts with other Open Play players.

Register in advance is recommended,

Open Play is limited to 30 spots.

When are Open Plays? 

Mondays: 

(ALL LEVELS) 1:30-3:00 PM

(ALL LEVELS) 5-6:30 PM

Wednesdays: 

(ALL LEVELS) 5-6:30 PM

(3.5+ MENS) 6:30-8 PM

​

Thursdays:

(ALL LEVELS) 5-6:30 PM

 

Fridays:

(ALL LEVELS) 5-6:30 PM​

Saturdays: 

(3.5+) 8:30-10:00 AM

 (ALL LEVELS) 10:00-11:30 AM

Sundays:  

(3.5+) 8:30-10:00 AM

Open Play Policies

  • Members have priority sign-up—7 days in advance.  Nonmembers can sign up 3 days in advance. 

  • Open Play is Free for members and $15 for nonmembers. 

  • All Open Play registrants must check in at the Front Desk. 

  • At the end of the Open Play time, all players must end their game no matter the score.  If there are back-to-back Open Plays, they may not stay for the second Open Play, or another free pickleball event.  

  • Players must wait until their designated time to play to come onto the courts if courts are occupied. 

  • Western member registrants will be charged a NO SHOW fee of $10. 

  • Nonmember’s credit card will be charged at the time of registration and will not be refunded if they are a NO SHOW unless the nonmember is on the waitlist. 

  • Members or nonmembers who arrive 15 minutes past the start time will lose their spot in Open Play and will be replaced by a player on the waitlist.  They will also be charged the NO SHOW fee.  

  • The format of Open Play is as follows: 

  • Games play to 11 

  • Winners stay and split, nonwinners leave 

  • Two new players come on the court and a new game begins 

  • New players coming into a game must use the Paddle Rack system 

  • Open Play is for adults.  Players must be 14 years of age or older.  

  • All Level Open Plays—Courts 4, 5 and 6 designated 3.5+.  Courts 1,2 and 3 for lower levels. 

  • No open containers on the courts.  Please remove all trash. 

  • Please wear clean shoes on the courts.  

  • Western provides pickleball balls for Open Play. 

  • The Western Pickleball Coordinator or person designated by the PC will coordinate Open Play. 

  •  

  • To cancel, call 513.451.4233 at least 30 minutes before the scheduled event or cancel on the Court Reserve App 8 hours before.
